Stronger Patterns Made Easy: Submissions

Have you ever finished a pattern, only to feel like it "needs something", yet you're not sure what?

Well, my next Skillshare class series is devoted to helping you solve that specific problem by giving you tips on how to strengthen your patterns. I'll show you simple ways to improve a design step-by-step, using actual patterns from my students. And that's where I NEED YOUR HELP!

I'm looking for designers who have created patterns in Adobe Illustrator that they are looking to improve upon (either a little or a lot). If that sounds like you, they I'd love you to submit your work!

Now, for the nitty gritty details...

Stronger Patterns Made Easy: A Pattern Design Class Series with Shannon McNab

Submission Guidelines

All completed patterns MUST be layered and created as repeat pattern tiles in Adobe Illustrator (.AI). Patterns that do not repeat properly will not be considered.

You can submit as many patterns as you like, however, please only include one pattern per .AI file.

Compensation & Permission

Designers will receive the updated Illustrator file I demonstrate in the class video, have their information (short bio, website link, Instagram/FB link, etc.) presented in class, as well as be paid $25 via PayPal for use of their work.

Designer will be notified via email if their pattern is chosen and be asked to sign a simple contract allowing me to use their design for this class. Once the contract is signed, they'll be asked to fill out a simple form so I can help promote them in class.

How to Submit Your Work

Send a single email submission to shannon@shannonmcnab.com with the Subject Line “Stronger Patterns Class Submission”. Include a brief description of the pattern and what you're struggling with. If you're submitting multiple designs, please include the name of each pattern with it's description.

Pattern .AI files should be attached to the email OR be available via download link (Dropbox or a similar service). DO NOT send multiple emails; if you're submitting multiple patterns and they are too large as an attachment, please send a download link instead.

Please Note: Patterns will be chosen based on what designs can help me best demonstrate the tip/s I plan to discuss; it has absolutely no bearing on your skill level or talent.

Thank you so much for your help!
